The puppies are spending the day outside and are loving it…I would love it too; the weather is great.  They are in the shade out of the sun and the breeze feels great.  I still find it amusing that they want to sleep in a huge puppy pile on top of one another when it is 80 degrees out but o’well…..  Charger (Kahlua; liver & white, male ) looks and acts a lot like his daddy, Ace.  Ace by the way spent the day with Tim and was very happy about it!  He has this goofy grin that just makes me giggle every time he is around Tim…I hate to say it but, I think he likes Tim better than me.  I guess boys stick together.  Tim crawled into the whelping box tonight after we brought the puppies in.  He sat there and played with them while I sat on the floor in the kitchen; there is not enough room for two people to sit in there with them.  I got the pheasant wings out and we played with them for a while.  I took out puppies individually and play with them on the floor with the wings.  I took out Whammie (Kahlua; black & white, male), Tango (Kahlua; black & white, male), Dixieland Tea (Trixie; liver & white, female), and Bazooka Joe (Kahlua; liver & white, male).  Tim played with the rest.  I have to say that they are definitely getting more excited about the feather and the smell.  Everyday the puppies get more and more active.  They are really starting to romp around in their pen.  I can hear them from inside playing and fighting with each other.  Captain Crunch (Kahlua; black & white, male) and Baltimore Brace (Kahlua; black & white, male) play very hard with each other.  Diesel (Kahlua; black & white, male) can crawl out of the whelping box all on his own.  My brother Aaron has been a great help with the dogs and the puppies; Tim and I enjoy having him around very much.  I took Tim with me today to work with Mini and SoBe.  We went to the little pond behind the gas station here in town and he threw buoys for the girls.  They are doing great when it comes to their water retrieves….I should have no problem with them at the hunt test this weekend.  Tim then took a frozen pheasant (yes, I have birds in my freezer right next to the ice cream) and put them out for blind retrieves.  The girls did awesome…no complaints.  Miata did good with her frozen pigeon retrieves and hupping.  I think that she is going to be an awesome puppy to run in the puppy stakes this spring…should be fun.  Well, my husband wants me to come to bed now so……I think Mini wants me to come as well.  Trixie is sleeping on the big pet bed on the floor in our bedroom already.  Tyrael is on the top step and Kahlua is in the whelping box with the babies…we will see where everyone ends up in the morning…it is usually on my side of the bed with me about to fall out!
