Harvest Hunters puppies are raised in our home with the utmost care and love. They are spoiled! I take pride in their breeding to bring you genetically sound dogs. The Dams and Sires hips are OFA certified good. When the puppies are born I play classical music for them to help with their cognitive development; I think it works well.
We have their tails docked at field cut length and, their dew claws done at the veterinarians, as well as, all of their shots and de-worming.
I introduce them to pheasant wings around 4 weeks old. I start retrieves with them as soon as they can pick up pheasant / pigeon wings which, is usually around 5 weeks old and continue until they go to homes.
Tim and I also take a lot of time and energy to potty train them as soon as they start eating solid foods; every two hours they go out or when they wake up or are done eating / drinking. Puppies are 85-90 % potty trained when they leave for their new families.
When you purchase a Harvest Hunters puppy you will receive a puppy packet. The packet contains a receipt from the vet for the tail docking and dew claws removal, along with their shots, shot records, copies of Dam and Sire OFA certificate, Dam and Sire AKC certificates and pedigrees, Dam and Sire summary with pictures, AKC registration paperwork for your puppy, bill of sale / health guarantee, an article on crate training, starter pack of Heartguard/ Frontline, sample of Purina Pro Plan Puppy food and or Native Puppy food, puppy feeding guide, and a whistle (if desired).
