I understand that the bed is toasty and comfy; I want to enjoy it too! I can say their names and the just simply play dead; who knew that 30lbs of dog could be so difficult to move; it is like moving cinder blocks that are bolted to the bed. When I call their names to get their attention they might respond with the arch of an eyebrow but nothing more….I get the “are you talking to me look?” YES, I am talking to you! Grrrrr……poochies I need my sleep, this is my bed so, MOVE!

So, only in Minnesota can it go from being a nice 50 degrees to negative 20 below in the matter of days. Along with the freezing weather comes the headache of maintaining vehicles in the cold weather….What does this mean you might ask? Well, what it means is DO NOT run your vehicles gas tank down to the fuel light because, if you do, it is most likely your vehicle will not remain running. Case and point: my F 150 would not stay started tonight…..not enough gas. I was stranded at a friends house. They graciously took me to a gas station. After returning with a can of gas and a bottle of HEET my frozen truck started with some convincing. Welcome winter; I didn’t miss you; you could of stayed missing for another 2 months…I would not have sent out the search party for you.

I am the wife of an American Soldier.

I am a supporter of the United States Army – an encouragement for the protectors of the greatest nation on earth.

Because I am proud of my husband and the uniform that he wears, I will always act in ways creditable to him, the military service and the nation he is sworn to guard.

I am proud of my husband.

I will do all that I can to protect and provide for my family in his absence.

I will be loyal to my husband and to the vows that we made as we entered the covenant of marriage.

I will do my full part to carry on the values and goals we have set apart for our family and I will continue to instruct our children in the same manner.

As a soldier’s wife, I realize that I play a vital role in my husband’s decision to become a member of a time-honored profession – that I am doing my share to keep alive the principles of freedom for which my country stands.

No matter what situation I am in, I will never do anything, for pleasure, profit, or personal safety, which will disgrace my husband, his uniform or our country.

I will use every means I have to encourage my husband to be the best soldier that he can be.

I am proud of my husband, my country and its flag.

I will fly the flag and will always remember the sacrifices made by my husband and by generations of men and women that have served our beloved country.

I will try to make my husband proud of the manner in which I accept his decision to defend my freedom and the freedom of all American citizens,

For I am the wife of an American soldier.

Trixie and Kahlua helped me set up the Christmas Tree…..they watched with interest as I hanged all the stockings….Yes all 14 of them. Tim is gone again; he is at Fort Lee in Virgina. I know that he will be excited that the tree is up. He has been bargaining with me to put it up since before Thanksgiving….the deal I made was as soon as the snow stays on the ground the tree can go up and here I am in the middle of a blizzard! It is a beautiful tree; don’t you agree?

7 years ago I married the love of my life, my confidant, and my best friend. I stood in the mist of a crowd alone and took my wedding vows; my ultimate promises to my husband and God. Today, I read the same vows to Tim but with a different twist:

7 years ago, I pledged my loyalty to you, Tim, as your wedded wife, to live together after God’s ordinance, in the holy estate of matrimony. I promised to love you, comfort you, honor and keep you, in sickness and in health. I further promised that, forsaking all others, I would keep myself only unto you, so long as we both shall live. During these 7 years, I have been faithful to that pledge. Now, again, at the beginning of the 7 year of our life together, in the presence of God, in the presence of our family, and in the presence of friends who have gathered for this happy occasion, I renew these vows, pledging myself to continue my devotion to you as long as we both shall live.

He is my hero, my life, and my lover….my commitment to him grows stronger everyday along with the love I have for him. We built our marriage on a strong foundation of Christ; I know that my marriage will not waiver. I did not build it on sand but in cement. Happy Anniversary Tim, I Love You!

Yep, you guessed it, I came home to change and load dogs up; I stupidly decided to sit down in bed with the hubby and fell asleep with my scrubs on sitting against the headboard of the bed. I would like to add that it left a nice indent in my head. Oh man, it just stunk. Of course, there were people who needed me that morning which made it even worse…ick is all I can say. I am going to flop down now with a big Springer sigh and sad eyes….sorry guys!

The training in the field was going well this morning until I had to run Mighty on a check cord. Now, the problem is that she is not a bad dog or anything; she just needs a gentle reminder to bring birds back to me. She was running and found her clip wing pigeon, she went in hard and picked it up. On her way back to me she dropped it and the pigeon flew a little ways. This would not have been a problem except that the check cord had made a loop around my ankle and when she ran full steam (who would of thought a little 25lb could be so strong?) to retrieve the escaped pigeon that loop tightened…Yep, you guested it, I was flat on my back in 2 seconds. My foot was literally pulled out from under me ( I hear from the guys that it was quite comical). As I laid on the ground looking at the blue sky trying desperately to catch my breath I was wondering, “Where is the dog?” I was able to get the question out just in time for Mighty to be peering down at me from above with a pigeon in her mouth. Did I mention how much I HATE ROPES?
