The puppies get plenty of one on one playtime with Tim and I in the morning but, today they got to play with my little brother, Aaron. All involved had a blast! They got a shower this morning and were all squeaky clean for their romp session this morning. We also clipped their little claws too; they were turning into little hooks. Aaron gave them a toy to mangle….there are little puncture wounds all over it with little tufts of stuffing peaking out….like I keep saying their teeth are needle sharp. Also in the video is Mississippi playing with a pheasant wing; she is birdie, no doubt about it! Beret was in a crate with Mighty and Kane and between the 3 of them they decided to relieve Beret of her collar…..another one bites the dust. No matter what I do to try and prevent the destruction of collars they always seem to find some ingenious way of getting it off. The only recognizable piece of her collar that was left was the rabies tag. These three little buggers are definitely keeping Tim and I on our toes! SoBe and Trixie are out with me as I type…my foot is falling asleep because Trixie is deciding that it needed to be kept warm with her butt. The other adult dogs are outside romping in the snow; the weather is nice out so, I try and get them out as much as mother nature will let me. Mini is pouting in a crate in the kitchen; she is in heat. Tim wants to breed her again and I am toying with the idea of breeding her now or in the spring. Well, time to start another day; I wonder what adventures it will bring.
The Holidays are here and I have a house full of guests; friends from near and far along with my little brother Aaron. The house if full and we will be expecting more. Dan, Andy, Aaron are here now; Laura and Sam will be joining us later in the week. My little brother Aaron received a hat identical to my husbands as a Christmas gift from Tim and I. I ordered it because Tim was tired of Aaron taking his hat when he would stay with us…now he has is own. Gene and his Pit Bull puppies stopped by for a visit; they are such happy beautiful dogs. I will post more pictures
of the festivities as they occur.
The rest of the day was great! I took the puppies to the vet and they are HEALTHY! The roads on the other hand were not so much fun; ice 1 inch thick on the roads is not my idea of fun. Mississippi Planters Punch weighed 10 lbs and Mint Julep weighed 9lbs. My friend Andy arrived from Nebraska and will be visiting for a couple of days. He is getting used to the noises that are contained with in my little house…..in other words the ear piercing screeches from the puppies…Tim and I are immune.
The night was not as eventful as I anticipated…..Mighty had consumed 2 cups of frying oil off the stove. Her tummy must be made out of steal because she made not a peep last night. Tim headed off the work this morning but, not after letting Mississippi and Mint romp and scamper through the house; it is amazing what they can find in a matter of milliseconds; it always seems to be Tim’s wool socks. Beret, Kane, Mighty, Mini, and SoBe were also out this morning to enjoy some personal time. Mint and Mississippi are good sleepers in their crates and will sleep in if allowed to. Mighty is beckoning me right now….hold on; she needs to go out. Wow, for all her complaining she was not to enthused to go out; cant blame her it is cold, the winter blast from the open door was enough to make my teeth chatter. Mint and Mississippi got showers last night; Tim rinsed them off (after a couple of minutes of waiting for the hot water to make the venture upstairs). We dried them off an snuggled them in their crate with a nice warm dry towel fresh from the dryer; what was left of the towel this morning is more to be desired. Their needle sharp teeth can turn anything into swiss cheese; the victim now looks more like shag carpeting than a towel. Well, off to start another day…I wonder what it will bring?

Never a dull moment in our house…as you can see even when the puppies are in their crate they are active and vocal. The noise level increases while they terrorize each other. Today Mississippi and Mint played int he kitchen with intermittent breaks of sleeping and trips to the cold outdoors. Potty training is going great! Mighty got into some trouble today; she went into stealth mode ( impressive for her age) and jumped up onto the stove where a nice pot of frying oil was waiting for her to slurp down…..she was able to consume 2 cups before Tim realized that she was missing from his lap…..lets just say that she is grounded to her crate for the night. I can only imagine how icky her tummy is going to be; as I type, she is sitting in her crate right next to the door, walking circles, ready for quick evacuation to go out. Tim is over being upset now, and feels bad that she is going to have an unpleasant experience soon….poor baby. The dogs spent most of the day in the house with us; we rotate them from their room co everyone gets plenty of attention. I am still finding pieces of stuffing through out the house from their Christmas presents….the one day that we let them destroy stuffed toys….it looks like a cotton ball exploded but, they have a great time doing it!

Who says that you have to spend a lot on puppy toys? These little girls seem to find everything and anything that they can get into their mouths( they are banging around in my kitchen as we speak; I think they have the dust pan now….); we had to totally puppy proof our house this go around! I have to say that this litter is spoiled rotten; with there only being 2 of them they go everywhere with us and are out tormenting my house all the time. It is easier to watch 2 than 15…that is for sure. Tim takes them with him to work and they get so much attention along with their potty training (it is going great; cold weather is a wonderful motivator for them to hurry up and go). The snow is still falling here in Cyrus…..has been for the last 3 days; my fence keeps getting shorter and shorter as the snow keeps getting higher and higher!

Puppies playing in the snow! I just had spinal cord surgery so, it has been very busy around here with that and the end of the semester for me. I apologize for the lack of blogs this go around but, I should be able to get some stuff posted now that all is settled down. Here is Mississippi Planters Punch (female: black & white; she is still available to put in a stocking for a late Christmas present) and Mint Julep (female; liver & white).
Yes, each one of our dogs gets their own stockings….there is 12: Trixie, Tyrael, Ace, Baker, Mini, SoBe, Kahlua, Jimmy, Miata, Mighty, Beret, and Kane! Tim and I are looking forward to stuffing their stockings with all kinds of fun treats and toys….stay tuned there will be video!
