Harvest Hunters English Springer Spaniels

The puppies are growing so fast; they should, they get all they can eat and then some.  Tim calls them “The Fatties.”  They love to snuggle.  Thanksgiving is coming up; we are having my family over for dinner….I am a little worried; I have never cooked for so many people.  Wish me luck!

The puppies are all nice and warm on their nest most of the day.  Trixie cuddles with them and tries to let them nurse; she looks up with big sad eyes at us when we tell her, “they are not yours.”  Kahlua spent most of her time with Tim and I today following us around the house; she is letting the whelping box and Trixie babysit more.  I have Julep snuggled on my chest right now; she is fast asleep…no wait…she is dreaming away now….twitching and yipping.  Both girls are very talkative.  Trixie and Kahlua got their paws trimmed and Ace went out with Tim hunting.  Mighty is as we speak cuddled in Tim’s lap…the “pretty pretty princess” as Tim calls her.  Kahlua has once again earned her pro card in counter surfing.  I took a butter wrapped not once but twice away from her….Tim just laughed…..he could of helped.  Tim just scooped up Julep and snuggled her in with Mississippi; it is now time for bed.  Mini, SoBe, Trixie, Tyrael, and Kahlua will join us.  Good night all….don’t let the bed bugs bite!

Here is a peek at a typical evening at our home…I am doing homework (for nursing school) and Tim is playing with the “kids”.

Kahlua had an emergency C section and lost 5 out of 7 puppies; it was heart breaking for Tim and I.  I brought my little angels home snuggled in the warming box and Tim took them out kissed, snuggled, and buried them with the rest of our lost angels. We cried together and where thankful that Kahlua had two very healthy puppies that made it; 2 females.  Trixie trying to nurse Kahlua's puppies; fall 2009After some convincing by Tim, I am writing now….I wanted to make sure that they were healthy; I did not want to jinx anything.  The puppies have their eyes open and are now scooting around in their whelping box.  Tim made me a new one with a whelping nest built right in; that is a warming “plate”/ disk that stays at a constant Mighty and SoBe; fall 2009temperature and can sense if they puppies are cold or not and will turn on or off.  Actually, all my older dogs love it and we find them snuggled in with the puppies on it all toasty.  Trixie did not have any puppies but, she thinks that once again Kahlua’s are hers….that is what the picture is about.  There is so much activity going onTim and Kane hanging out playing computer; fall 2009 in the house it is hard to tell up from down right now.  Mighty, Kane, and Beret are growing soooo fast, they are almost the size of Mini!Beret
