The puppies have now learned that when the door is opened to the puppy pen they come out and follow us up the stairs into the house and into the kitchen. They are very good at follow the leader. Cosmopolitan (liver & white, Trixie) was one of the first to figure it out but, now everyone is following her lead. Smart Girl! Swamp Water (liver & white, Trixie) is a little cutie. She follows me around and sits at my feet waiting to be held. Dreamsicle (liver & white, Trixie) and Jelly Bean (Liver & white, Trixie) play very hard with Pink Lady (liver & white, Trixie). The cries are getting louder now that the puppies are playing harder; we can tell when one of them gets the others ear. Gin Fizz (black & white, Kahlua) is a little thinker. He sits and thinks and then goes an plays He is a great listener. The puppies got baths again. Tim and I are going to the cities tomorrow to drop off puppies at their new homes; it is exciting but, a little sad. I will miss them all a bunch but, I know that it is time for them to start their new lifes with their new families. Still there will be a small stream of tears in my heart….but that is ok.
Whoosh!!! The wind today has been rocking the house back and forth all day, wow! The puppies were in and out all day. There is 11 of them left and the tote that they get carried in to go outside is getting lighter. The babies roll and play on the kitchen floor. Dreamy (liver & white, Trixie) is a cutie and is into everything; very curious. Jelly Bean (liver & white, Trixie) likes to play hard with Pink Lady (liver & white, Trixie). The boy puppies all love to chase and retrieve the toys we have down for them on the kitchen floor. Gin Rickey (black & white, Kahlua) lets us know what he wants and now; very smart little boy. Last night Tim had Trixie, Tyrael, and Kahlua sleep with him while I was at work. Tonight is my last night in a long stretch of nights I have worked. I will have a bunch of time off before I go back again. Tim and I are getting ready for him to leave for 6 months of active Army; he is a Lieutenant. Mini and SoBe got lots of exercise today. They both did retrieves; I do have to say that they did not want to be out in the wind very long and after a while they both jumped back into their crates in the Jeep.
Well, I am back from Mayo Clinic. It was a very frustrating visit and I need to go back a couple more times. Tim held down the fort while I was gone and did a great job! The puppies are now going to their homes. Three left today; Gin Tonic (liver & white, Kahlua), Pina Colada (black & white, Kahlua), and Rumrunner (black & white Kahlua). The babies got baths yesterday in the big tub and loved it. The water was just the right depth to where they could swim/ stand in it. They spent a good 15 minutes wrestling in the water with each other. The potty training is going great. They let us know when they have to go outside for the bathroom. Yesterday and today Tim and I gave the puppies “rattles” to play with. Rattles are plastic bottles with coins in them that make a lot of noise! We also gave them cans to chase around which made a lot of noise….it sounds like a war zone in the kitchen but, the good news is that every puppy did not shy away from the noise. They were in hot pursuit of the loud toys; it was great. They love pigeons; we throw them for the babies and they go a chasing! SoBe and Mini are still in heat and are getting lots of exercise. Retrieves and “backs”. The snow is melting and it is getting easier for the girls to run through the snow. The boys have been sleeping with Tim while I was gone and have been enjoying my absence. Enjoy the warm weather; it sounds like it will disappear for a couple of days this week.
